Right now, most Americans feel like they are limited to the confines of the U.S. borders. This isn’t exactly true. While there are a ton of places to visit in the US (the US is almost the size of all the European countries combined), I wanted to put together a list of places outside the U.S. that Americans can travel to, and what there is to do in each place! There are some countries that U.S. citizens are allowed to travel to that either require proof of a negative Covid-19 test or just have a health screening upon arrival. I’ve left out the countries that require a 14-day quarantine because no one want’s to be stuck in a hotel room for 14 days! I’m hoping this post becomes irrelevant soon and we will be able to travel freely without fear of spreading or catching Covid-19, but for now, here you go:
Turkey: Travelers must agree to a health screening and temperature check, no test necessary.
Things to do: Check out the natural ancient baths in the town of Pamukkale and soak in some mineral-rich waters. Next, head to Cappadocia with amazing rock formations formed by volcanoes into which people have carved houses.
Ecuador: Traveler’s must provide proof of a negative PCR test that was taken within the past 10 days.
Things to do: Get up close and personal with some amazing animals on the Galapagos Islands then head back to the mainland and marvel at the volcano in the middle of Cotopaxi National Park.
Tanzania: Traveler’s may need to undergo a health screening upon arrival.
Things to do: Experience nature in Tanzania by taking in the view of Mount Kilimanjaro (or make your way to the summit if you're the adventurous type). Then take a safari in Serengeti National Park and you will be sure to see lions, elephants, leopards, and more.
Brazil: Travelers must have travel insurance that covers Covid-19.
Things to do: Take a journey south to stand in awe of Iguaçu Falls, a magnificent waterfall almost 3 times as wide as Niagara Falls! You can then soak in the culture of Brazil in some of their cities, like Salvador's Pelourinho which is a UNESCO World Heritage historic center with intricate architecture and lively restaurants.
Croatia: Traveler’s must fill out an online form to demonstrate proof of accommodation and must have proof of a negative PCR test.
Things to do: Walk through the streets of Dubrovnik or for my Game of Throne fans out there, take a tour of the filming locations of King's Landing. Then relax on a sail boat to explore the many islands of Kornati National Park.
These are just a few of the many countries US citizens can travel to. Below is a list of the rest that do not require a 14-day quarantine, but may require proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test or a health screening upon arrival. Not sure what to do in these countries?
